De Haan, Belgium

We cycled to the Barnes’ hotel and from there to De Haan on the coast. It’s midway between Zeebrugge and Ostend. We went through small villages and along canals to reach  the town of Blankenberge first and then along the promenade to De Haan.  We were surprised to learn that English speakers don’t visit De Haan enough in order for restaurants to have English menus!  There were many ‘private beaches’ where you have to rent a lounger or a beach hut. On the way back to Brugge we got a bit lost and Bill had a slow puncture which meant he needed to stop every 10 (and then 5) minutes to pump it up!
